Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we will ever do.”

Children & Adolescents

Children and adolescents can face challenges that impact their emotional well-being, behaviour, and relationships.

These challenges might manifest as difficulty regulating emotions, struggles with communication, or changes in behaviour. This can sometimes lead to issues like school avoidance, social struggles, or persistent feelings of sadness or anxiety.

Therapy provides a supportive space to help children and adolescents understand and navigate their emotions, build resilience, and develop healthy coping strategies.

At I Am ME Clinical Psychology, Natalia works with children and adolescents at their developmental level, using a flexible and creative approach.

With primary school-aged children, parents are typically involved in therapy to extend support beyond sessions. The level of parental involvement is tailored to the individual needs of the child or adolescent and is discussed early in the therapy process.

Young Adults

Young adulthood is a time of significant change, and therapy can be a valuable resource for navigating these transitions.

Whether it’s adjusting to new life stages, managing academic or career pressures, or dealing with relationship dynamics, therapy offers a safe space to explore identity, mental health, and self-development.

Natalia uses evidence-based therapies such as CBT, ACT, mindfulness skills training, and DBT to help young adults understand their emotions, set meaningful goals, and develop healthy coping strategies. Therapy can be especially beneficial for building resilience, enhancing self-awareness, and creating a balanced, fulfilling life.

“Children do well if they can. If they can’t, we need to figure out what’s getting in their way.”

Areas of Support

Therapies Offered

  • CBT is a structured, goal-oriented therapy that helps individuals identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and develop practical self-help strategies. It focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, empowering clients to make positive changes.

  • ACT helps individuals develop psychological flexibility by teaching skills to live in alignment with their personal values. Rather than trying to suppress or control difficult emotions, ACT encourages acceptance, helping clients engage in meaningful actions even in the presence of discomfort. This approach supports individuals in navigating anxiety, depression, and life transitions while fostering resilience and emotional well-being.

  • Originally developed by Marsha Linehan, DBT is particularly effective for individuals experiencing intense emotions, difficulties with impulsivity, or struggles with relationships and distress tolerance. DBT focuses on four core skills:
    - Mindfulness – Increasing awareness and presence in the moment
    - Distress Tolerance – Managing overwhelming emotions without making the situation worse
    - Emotional Regulation – Understanding and managing emotions effectively
    - Interpersonal Effectiveness – Communicating needs while maintaining relationships and self-respect

While DBT is widely used for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), it is highly useful for other psychological disorders such as substance dependence, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and eating disorders.

  • Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present and engaged in the moment, observing thoughts and feelings without judgment or distraction. It is often integrated into CBT, DBT, and ACT to help individuals develop greater self-awareness, emotional balance, and resilience.

Mindfulness therapy is not simply about relaxation—it’s about recognising and responding to emotions in a thoughtful, intentional way. By cultivating mindfulness, clients can build emotional clarity, reduce stress, and improve overall mental well-being.

  • For younger children, she often incorporates play-based therapy.
